Elizabeth Flair, born Elizabeth Ann Harrell, is famous for being the ex-wife of sixteen-time WWE World Champion Ric Flair. While she was married to one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, Elizabeth played an integral part in her ex-husband’s personal and professional life.
Well, her former spouse is very renowned in the WWE industry. The question arises: what does his ex-wife do? So, if you are curious to know more about Elizabeth, you have come to the right place.
Elizabeth Flair Is The Second Wife Of Ric Flair
Ric has been married 5 times throughout his life. After separating from his first wife, he married Elizabeth Flair on August 27, 1983 where Jim Crockett was the best man. Elizabeth Harrell, born on January 6, 1955, is American by nationality and Caucasian by ethnicity.
Initially, the former couple would have meet-ups at Greg Valentine‘s house, a fellow wrestler. While details about her early life are limited, her marriage to the retired wrestler brought her more public attention, especially as she became involved in various skits alongside him in WCW. This marriage provided her with a spotlight as she was relatively unknown before tying the knot.
Unfortunately, things did not work out well between the duo, and after almost two decades of their marriage, they divorced in 2006.
Elizabeth Flair Was More Of A Housewife
Unlike her popular former husband, Elizabeth is not widely known for a specific career. However, she made a few appearances in WCW, Celebrity Wife Swap, and Starrcade.
Furthermore, Elizabeth took on the responsibility of managing the family’s finances while her ex-spouse focused on his wrestling career. Being a full-time wrestler, Ric was frequently occupied, so Elizabeth stepped up to handle the financial matters. She primarily lived as a housewife and also took care of their children during this time.
Harrell Had Two Children
From her decades of marriage with Ric, Elizabeth was blessed with two little ones. Their first child, Ashley Elizabeth Flair, was born on April 5, 1986, followed her father’s footsteps into the WWE and became known as Charlotte Flair. She dominated the Diva division, becoming a fourteen-time women’s world champion.
Their second child, Richard Reid Flair, born on February 26, 1988, also entered the WWE. He made his in-ring debut on December 26, 2008, showing great potential.
However, despite his talent in wrestling, Reid struggled in his personal life. He battled heroin addiction and was arrested in 2009 for possession. Sadly, he passed away on March 29, 2013, due to a heroin overdose, as confirmed by an autopsy report.
She Still Misses Her Son
Losing a child is an unimaginable pain that can deeply affect a parent’s emotional well-being. Having lost her only son, Elizabeth experienced a lot of grief and sorrow. Over the years, she has expressed her feelings on X, formerly Twitter.
Even though Reid has passed away, Harrell still celebrates his birthday and expresses how much she misses and loves him.

In addition, Elizabeth has defended her late son numerous times. In 2015, during a WWE segment on Monday Night Raw, Elizabeth’s daughter, Charlotte, and another wrestler, Paige, got into a heated argument before signing a contract.
Charlotte vowed to fight against Paige, just like her late brother Reid did every single day. However, the latter mockingly replied, “you’re wrong, sweetheart because your little baby brother didn’t have much fight in him, did he? (sic),” which upset many fans.
Moreover, Elizabeth defended her deceased son and criticized WWE’s executives and scriptwriters for allowing such disrespect. She felt disgusted by how the situation was handled in the show.
Elizabeth Harrell And Ric Flair’s Divorce Filled With Drama
As stated earlier, the former couple parted ways in 2006. During their 23-year marriage, Ric and Flair argued frequently, often due to financial issues. Elizabeth, handling financial matters alone, encountered problems with banks, resulting in overpaying on loans several times.
In 2005, Ric’s lawyers accused his then-wife of assaulting him on more than one occasion. They blamed her for hitting him on the head and body to incite him into a physical altercation.
On the other hand, in their divorce settlement, Harrell accused Ric of harassment, which included physically assaulting her, abandoning the family, having an alcohol problem, infidelity, serving their late son liquor, taking him to the strip club, insulting her friends with racial slurs, demanding coitus, and, forcing her to sleep with him.
She withstood it all despite suffering from high cholesterol and osteopenia and stood by Ric when he had nervous breakdowns and frequent anxiety attacks. She even played the role of his “loyal wife” during skits and helped in developing the “Nature Boy” persona.
Where Is Elizabeth Flair Now?
While Ric married multiple times after parting ways with his ex-wife, there is not much detail if Elizabeth found someone special in her life. She is currently in Charlotte, N.C. Furthermore, she is active on her social media handle and shows support for her daughter in her career.
